Candid Camera is a TV show that been around for a very long time. Candid Camera transforms from a radio station section called Candid Microphone in 1947 by Allen Funt. The popular radio station concept came to television on 1948 through cable network.

Candid Camera started to die down when they facing the lawsuit when the injury occurred during the taping. But at the same time other Candid Camera inspired show is increasing such as Punk’d, Boiling Points, and even internationally like in this following clip.

Even though these imitation show seems like Candid Camera, still it doesn’t have the same touch. The original Candid Camera is very funny and heart warming and at the end most people that got prank is still very happy. But the new kind of show is more focus on the audience who watching at home, the show could some time be describe as very mean.
But Candid Camera is expecting to be on the air for there new season soon, so when you walk on the street you might be the one who will hear this phrase “Smile, you’re on Candid Camera”.
